Assemble Your RC Truck
Read the instruction manual before you begin, and keep it nearby so you can consult it as you build your RC truck. Many manuals offer helpful advice and tips on the more difficult assembly processes you will encounter, and some companies may even offer a helpline you can call if you have questions.
Arrange all your parts, grouped by type, into your parts tray to ensure easy access and prevent loss. Choose a tray with individual slots to allow for easier grouping of specific components.
Lay your pit towel down over your work area. This will absorb any fluid spills and will also counteract parts from rolling off your work surface if you drop them while attempting assembly.
Collect all the tools you will need. For nitro-powered RC trucks, it is recommended that you substitute channel-lock pliers for regular pliers to allow for better flywheel hold. It's also a good idea to invest a little more money upfront and get better-quality tools. You might save a bit on lower-cost tools, but you'll lose money in the end when you have to replace them.
Begin to build your truck according to the step-by-step instructions included in the manual. Go slowly, and make sure each step is properly and fully completed before moving on to the next. Consult any diagrams included in the manual as you build to make absolutely certain you are executing the steps correctly.
Make sure that all parts are oriented correctly before you attach them. This is especially important when attaching tires. It's easy to affix tires with the directional treads facing the wrong way.
