Parental Features
Kettler tricycles are equipped with a push bar. The bar can be attached and detached from the base of the frame behind the seat. Also, parents can hook the push bar into the steering and control the steering of the tricycle for the littlest ones. The patented tri-wheel steering feature can be turned off for when your children reach a more independent age. The ergonomic seat was designed in 2010. The seat is high-backed and adjusts to four different positions for different ages. A seatbelt is an available feature and keeps the youngest ones safe from falling out of the tricycle. It is installed through a simple screw-in system.
Steering Features
Kettler tricycles feature a limited turn radius. An internal mechanism was installed to prevent the front wheel from turning past a 45 degree angle either left or right. The purpose of the patented Limited Turn Radius is to prevent tipping of the tricycle. A low center of gravity and wide tires will also help prevent tipping, according to Growing Tree Toys. A parental lock can be turned on and off on the tricycle. This restricts the wheels and only allows the bike to move forward and backward in a straight line. This feature makes it easier for parents to push the tricycle. The Patented three-in-one Auto Freewheel feature allows the child to rest his feet while the parent steers him. With the Auto Freewheel feature, kids can switch easily between forward pedaling, backward pedaling and coasting.
Extendable Frame
This feature is below the seat on the frame between the seat and handlebars. Its purpose is to allow a growing child to adjust the tricycle according to his size. It lengthens the tricycle, extending the space between seat and handlebars. The Quick-Adjust Frame is available only on the Air Navigator Kettrike Tricycle.
Accessories
Kettrike tricycles have an optional tipping bucket that attaches behind the seat. The bucket tips with the pull of a latch. Kids will enjoy being able to haul and unload cargo with the flip of a switch. Tandem seats are available through Kettrike. Little brothers and sisters can ride alongside the driver on up to three detachable seats.
