Things You'll Need
Instructions
Measure one side of a wooden block with a ruler so you know what size the textured material needs to be to fit on one side of the block.
Use the measurements to cut out two squares from different pieces of fabric. Place thin layers of glue on two sides of the block and then glue down each piece of fabric.
Glue pieces of wooden dowel on another side of the block. Form the dowels into the letter A or the first letter of your child's name.
Use a piece of sandpaper to create a rough side. Cut out a piece of sandpaper according to the measurements then glue it to the fourth side of the block.
Apply pieces of double-sided tape to create a sticky side. Lay pieces of tape side-by-side until you've covered the fifth side of the block.
Cover the last side of the block with dry rice to create a bumpy side. Apply a thin layer of glue then sprinkle rice over the glue until you've completely covered the last side of the block and allow to dry.
Create another textured block using different pieces of fabric, smooth pebbles, foil and any other textures you discover.
