Skipping Areas
Some bugs allow you to skip areas or get into them early. For example, one glitch lets you get into the Shadow Temple as soon as Link becomes an adult. To perform it, plant a magic bean in the Kakariko graveyard when Link is still a boy. As an adult, climb the beanstalk and use a bomb to blast yourself over the wall. Follow the wall to find the Shadow Temple entrance. Another bug lets you skip the three trials in Ganondorf's castle. Inside his castle, go to the spirit dungeon. Push the statue to the right of the entrance. Face the corner between the statue and the wall, and then jump-attack toward the corner. If done correctly, Link goes through the wall. Cross over the beams in the next room to skip the trials.
Infinite Health and Magic
With two empty bottles and one fish, you can exploit a bug to give Link infinite health. Assign a bottle containing a fish and an empty bottle to two of the C-buttons. Release the fish and catch it again immediately. Do a back flip, and while in mid-air, press the button to release the fish. Quickly press the button for the empty bottle. Link drinks from the bottle and regains five hearts. The Lens of Truth is a magic item that uncovers hidden or invisible secrets. To activate it without using up your magic, play the Song of Storms. After you finish playing, immediately turn on the Lens of Truth to use it without depleting the magic meter.
Sword Glitches
To make Link drop his sword, enter the final battle with Ganondorf. As soon as Ganondorf knocks the Master Sword out of Link's hands, save your game. Restart the battle to play as Link without a sword. To make your sword glow white, face any sign or fence post. Press the "R" button to pull up the shield, then press "B" to thrust the sword. Press the "A" button in mid-thrust to read the sign and turn the sword white. The sword also has increased attack power, and Link cannot fall off ledges. If Link is attacked, though, the sword returns to its normal color.
Ability Glitches
Use the bomb hover glitch to reach new heights and restricted areas. To do this glitch, turn your sword white using the bug described above. Stand near a ledge and drop a bomb in front of Link. When the bomb explodes, do a backflip and pull out Link's shield immediately after. Link can now walk around in the air. The power crouch stab bug lets you kill most enemies and bosses in just a few hits. Equip a weapon, such as Biggoron's Sword or the Giant's Knife. Perform a jump attack, and as soon as you land, pull out the shield. Press the "B" button while crouching and shielding Link to use the power crouch stab.
