Place the NES next to the laptop on a table. Plug the NES' power cable into an AC outlet. Insert the NES port on the end of the power cable into the AC socket on the back of the NES.
Insert one end of a video cable into the video output on the back of the NES. Insert the other end of the video cable into the video input on the analog to digital converter. Plug the USB cable attached to the analog-to-digital converter into a USB port on the laptop.
Insert the analog-to-digital converter's installation disk into the laptop's disk drive. Follow the menu commands for a default installation when the installer program appears on the laptop's screen. Quit the program when the installer says it is done and eject the disk. Place the disk aside and reboot the laptop.
Launch the analog-to-digital program by selecting it from the "Start," "All Applications" menu. Click the "Next" button at the bottom of the program's windows until you come to a choice between "Video" and "S-Video." Select "Video." Continue to click "Next" until you come to the "Video Preview" window.
Turn the NES on to see the Nintendo logo and game console start-up screen appear in the video window. A video game can now be inserted into the NES and viewed on the laptop.
