Preparation
Heat the oven according to the recipe you are using, if you are baking your own cake.
Grease the cake pan.
Mix the cake ingredients in a bowl, pour them into the cake pan and put the pan in the oven. Let the cake cook for as long as the recipe calls for. Check the cake periodically to monitor the baking process. Insert a toothpick into the cake; when it comes out clean, the cake is finished.
Remove the cake pan from the oven and allow it to cool on a wire rack.
Dip a spatula into frosting and spread it across the surface of the cake to make a background for the Pac-Man and ghosts.
Decoration
Insert the pastry tip in the hole at the bottom of a pastry bag. Use a spatula to load the frosting bag with blue frosting. Tie off the end of the bag to close it.
Squeeze the bag to pipe out blue frosting to draw a maze shape across the surface of the cooled cake you cooked or a store-bought cake.
Load another frosting bag with yellow frosting. Draw dots throughout the path of the maze, except for blank areas where the Pac-Man has already eaten them. Draw a yellow circle in frosting with a slice missing to depict Pac-Man̵7;s gaping mouth wherever you like in the maze.
Draw ghosts in frosting at different positions inside the maze. They are in the shape of an upside-down ̶0;U̶1; with four bumps on the bottom. Use different colors -- such as red, pink and orange -- for the ghosts.
Draw round white eyes with frosting on Pac-Man and the ghosts. Draw black pupils in tiny dots of frosting on the whites of the eyes.
