Getting the Sun's Song in Ocarina of Time

One of the main features of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" is the ability to play songs on an ocarina. These songs open paths, solve puzzles and reveal hidden secrets. A variety of songs exist in the game and are unlocked as you progress through the story; one such song is the "Sun's Song." Playing this tune on the ocarina causes the sun to rise and set; it also stuns undead monsters, making them immobile for a brief duration. You can learn this song at the graveyard in Kakariko Village.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit the graveyard. The graveyard is accessed through the southeast exit of Kakariko Village.

    • 2

Locate three large tombstones at the far east end of the graveyard.

    • 3

Read the text on the left and right tombstones. The text tells you about two brothers and the song they composed. Two ghosts appear; defeat the two ghosts. After you defeat the ghosts, a Triforce symbol appears on the ground.

    • 4

Move Link over the Triforce symbol that is in front of the center grave. Play "Zelda's Lullaby" on the ocarina to open up a hole in the ground.

    • 5

Jump down the hole and move down the ramp in front of you to enter a small room. Bats, known as Keese, appear. Use the Slingshot to defeat the five Keese.

    • 6

Climb up the steps to enter the next room. Ignore the monsters in this room and continue on the path to the opposite side of the room. Avoid the large pools of green liquid on the ground, which damages your character if he comes in contact with it.

    • 7

Walk down the path and locate a large stone. Press "A" in front of the stone to read it. The inscription on the stone teaches you the "Sun's Song." To exit the area, walk back the way you came. Play the "Sun's Song" on your ocarina to stun the monsters remaining in the dungeon, making it easier for you to escape.
