How Do You Get a Third Bottle in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time?

As the hero of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time," players come across three bottles which can be used to contain a variety of mundane and exotic substances, from milk and bugs to fairies and fire. While most weaponry comes into Link's hands in dungeons and temples, each bottle is earned by performing a good deed for a citizen of Hyrule. However, players add the last bottle to their inventory through unconventional means.

Instructions

    • 1

Follow the ramp along the right-hand edge of Zoras' Domain until your reach the top of a waterfall with a humanoid fish creature called a Zora perched at the edge.

    • 2

Speak with the Zora and accept the offer to play a diving game collecting Rupees, the game's currency. Begin the game by diving off of the waterfall into the blue Rupee at the bottom, then swim around and hold "A" to dive at other points and collect all of the blue Rupees. Once you finish, the Zora will call you back to the top of the waterfall.

    • 3

Return to the waterfall and speak with the Zora to receive your prize, a silver scale. Having this in your inventory allows you to dive deeper into the water for a longer period of time.

    • 4

Dive off of the waterfall and swim into the tunnel under the water, which you can now reach with the silver scale.

    • 5

Emerge from the tunnel into a large outdoor lake and press "Z" immediately to target the bottle that has sunk to the bottom. Dive under the surface and into the bottle to add it to your repertoire.
