How to Get SNES ROMs to Work on Acekard

AceKard is a flash card system for Nintendo DS, DSi and 3DS. It supports custom programs, backup games and emulators that run ROMs of games from older consoles, such as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Since the AceKard flash card is based on simple hardware (the standard SD card form factor) and software (largely contained in Windows File Explorer), manipulating the card to add custom applications is relatively user-friendly.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the AceKard to your computer by USB SD card reader, then open the Removable Disk in Explorer. Create a new folder in the root (for example: D:\, E:\) called "SNES."

    • 2

Download and extract "SNEmulDS" (see Resources) to this folder on the SD card. Make sure the "snemulds.nds" and the "snemulds.cfg" files are in this folder.

    • 3

Create another folder inside "x:\SNES" called "ROMS." Copy your SNES game ROMs into this folder. Close the file explorer, eject the SD card and insert it into the DS. When the menu loads, the SNES emulator and ROMs should be accessible from the "Emulators" menu.
