How to Play the Organ in Final Fantasy VIII

"Final Fantasy VIII" is an action role-playing game by SquareSoft. In Ultimecia's Castle, near the end of the game, players have the option to play an organ located in the Chapel. At first, this seemingly has no purpose. However, playing the proper notes on the organ will unlock a secret room. In the room there is an item called the Rosetta Stone, making it a worthwhile endeavor to play the notes of the organ properly.

Instructions

  Enter Ultimecia's Castle. Make your way to the chapel, which is located through the castle's main courtyard.

  Run up to the organ and press the "X" button. A list of eight buttons and corresponding music notes will appear.

  Press all eight buttons at once, using your right thumb to press the "X," "O," "Triangle" and "Square" buttons. Press the "R1," "R2," "L1" and "L2" buttons with your left and right index and middle fingers. Continue holding the buttons until the notes end then press the "Start" button on the controller.

  Switch to your second party and go up the top-right path in the courtyard. If the organ is played correctly, the iron gate blocking the path will be down. If it is not, switch back to the group in front of the organ and try again.
