One of the buildings in the "Harvest Moon" village is the church. The NPC Carter resides in the church and receives your confessions on designated days of the week, as well as certain types of days. The door inside the church remains locked if you visit it any other time. Carter performs two functions for your character. He listens to your confessions and fixes cursed tools. Confessions affect your game play depending on what you confess. A few examples of confession effects include increasing the town's affection or marrying the harvest goddess.

Travel north from your farm to enter the town on Mondays and Wednesdays, or any rainy day. Time your town trip so you reach the church in the upper-right corner of the map between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Head to the upper-left corner door.

Enter the door. If you visited at the correct time, the door is unlocked. Otherwise it's locked and you need to wait for the proper time frame.
