How to Get Your Boomerang Back on Zelda

"The Legend of Zelda" frequently features the boomerang as a useable item for Link. The fourth game in the series, "Link's Awakening," is one of the few Zelda games that doesn't feature the boomerang as a quest-mandatory item. You can go through the entire game without getting it -- the boomerang is the most powerful weapon in the game because it can defeat the final boss in one hit. You can trade an item for the boomerang if you've completed the trading quest for the Magnifying Glass. You should designate one item to trade back and forth for the boomerang.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to Toronbo Shores on the southern part of Koholint Island. Go to the sixth screen from the lower left -- press "Select" to access the map -- until you see a bombable section along the north wall.

    • 2

Use a bomb on this part of the wall if you haven't already. You may have already tried to enter this area only to find nothing there. Equip the shovel to your "B" button slot.

    • 3

Enter the cave. You should see a Moblin if you have the Magnifying Lens from completing the trading sequence.

    • 4

Talk to him and accept his offer for the boomerang in exchange for the shovel. You can return to this cave at any point and exchange the items.
