How to Get the Key in the Room With 2 Gates in Zelda Ocarina

"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" is one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful games made for the Nintendo 64 with 7.6 million copies sold worldwide. Its Metacritic score is 99, making it one of the highest-rated games ever made. One of the most difficult sections in the game is the Water Temple, a complex puzzle that involves changing water levels in order to access various locked-off areas.

Instructions

  Navigate to the center of the room where you can see the crystal above one gate, with the other gate to the side of the crystal. Equip your hookshot to one of the "C" buttons, then shoot it at the crystal.

  Defeat the monsters that the crystal releases with your hookshot to open the gate. The room will fill with water, so remove your Iron Boots to float to the top.

  Retrieve the key from the alcove at the top of the room, which is now flooded, then use the Iron Boots to sink back down to the first floor and enter the gate opposite the alcove, which is now unlocked.
