How to Play SNES on an iPhone

Emulators allow nostalgic gamers to replay their old school favorites, such as Super Nintendo titles, without having to pull the console out of the dusty, spider-infested attic. Some emulators even allow users to play their favorites on portable devices, such as iPhone. Only jailbroken iPhones can install emulators, as the Apple Apps Store has removed all emulators from their listing.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Cydia app store on your jailbroken iPhone. A jailbroken iPhone is one that has been hacked to remove the restrictions placed on the hardware by Apple, allowing it to run customized homebrew programs and be used on carriers that Apple does not have contracts with. Cydia automatically replaces the Apple apps store during the jailbreaking process.

    • 2

Click the "Search" button in the bottom, right corner of the window and search for "SNES." A list of available emulators will appear. Download and install any of them you like. Some of the emulators cost money, but there are many free ones.

    • 3

Exit the Cydia app store and return to your phone's homepage. Click the icon for your emulator to start it up.

    • 4

Click "Games" from the emulator's menu. From the choices provided, choose "Find Game" to be linked to sites recommended by the app developer for downloading game files. Choose the site you prefer and browse the games are your leisure.
