How to Wake Up Talon at the Castle on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Talon is the owner of the Lon Lon Ranch in the video game "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time," however he is constantly dozing off leaving his young daughter Malon to look after him. Unfortunately for Talon he likes to fall asleep at inopportune moments, like after delivering a shipment of Lon Lon Milk to Castle Hyrule. The first time Link arrives at Castle Hyrule he will automatically encounter Malon, who needs his help to wake up Talon who has fallen asleep in the courtyard. The only problem is the castle guards who will chase Link away they see him.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your items inventory. Malon gives you a Cucco Egg when you first meet her. Map the Cucco Egg to one of your item buttons and exit the screen. When the next morning arrives, the Cucco Egg will hatch, which should be right around the time you reach Talon.

    • 2

Climb up the vines behind Malon. The vines take you to the top of a gate where there is a ladder. Climb down the ladder to enter a small room. The door in this room leads you into the castle grounds.

    • 3

Run through the field without being spotted by a guard. The guards can only spot you if you are within a few feet of them, so keep your distance to avoid being spotted and hide if any guards get too close. Run past the bridge to the castle, which is guarded, toward the gate, which is also guarded.

    • 4

Climb the wall on the left side of the gate to reach the top and then jump down into the moat below.

    • 5

Swim across the moat until you find a staircase that leads you to dry land. Exit the moat to find Talon sleeping close by.

    • 6

Press whichever item button you equipped the Cucco Egg to. By this point the sun should have come up and the Cucco Egg will now be a full grown Cucco, which will crow, causing Talon to wake up. If the sun has not come up yet, just wait in the area until it does.
