Travel to Kakariko village and speak to Sheik, who will teach you the Nocturne of Shadow song for your Ocarina. You play the Nocturne of Shadow by pressing the following buttons, in order and in a standard 4/4 time: "Left directional button > Right > Right > A button > Left > Right > Down." Remember that the timing of your song does not have to be perfect for your song to work, but it does if you want it to sound correct.
Position yourself in the middle of the candles outside of the temple. Select your Din's Fire spell from your list of spells, and cast it to light all of the candles located outside of the Shadow Temple, simultaneously. If you light them all at the same time, the front door of the temple will open, allowing you to access the inside.
Enter the temple and turn towards the right-side of the first room. Use your Lens of Truth to see an open space in the wall in front of you. Use your hook shot ability to position yourself over the pit that blocks your path. Walk through the wall, into another room, and then turn left. Use your Lens of Truth again and pass through another hole in the wall, located in the left corner. Walk into the next room and turn right, using your Lens of Truth again to see the door in the far wall.
Kill everything in this room and loot the chest, obtaining the dungeon map for the Shadow Temple. Exit the room, turn right and use the Lens of Truth again, to find another false wall. Walk through the following two rooms, using the Lens to locate false walls. Walk through the door on the far wall and enter the next room.
Engage Dead Hand, in the following room. Use your Lens of Truth again, and look on the large floor for a noticeable shadow. Place a bomb on the shadow and prepare to fight. Once the bomb goes off, Dead Hand will rise from the shadow and attack you. Use your standard combat tactics to damage the monster, but watch out for the wave attack that Dead Hand uses when he emerges, it can wound you.
