Things You'll Need
Instructions
Flip the Tamagotchi over so the screen is facing away from you. Remove the screw that is holding the battery door in place.
Remove the four screws inside the battery encasement and pop the battery out with your fingernail or screwdriver. Pull off the back of the Tamagotchi, and set it and the screws aside in a safe place.
Set the battery in its location on the circuit board and tape it in place. Locate the word "Debug" on the circuit board -- this is adjacent to the battery.
Locate the two contacts adjacent to the word "Debug." These are different shapes depending on the model you have -- they may be semi-circles or squares, but they always are adjacent to "Debug."
Create a lead between the two contacts by drawing a line between them with a regular pencil. Draw a solid line, but do not press too hard. Run the pencil between both contacts approximately five to eight times.
Press the "Reset" button on the back of the Tamagotchi, then flip the device over so you can see the screen. Select the "Reset" option on the screen. If you debugged the Tamagotchi successfully, you will be able to choose among different creatures instead of seeing the usual egg animation. If you see the usual animation, flip the device back over and try creating the lead between the debug contacts again.
Put the Tamagotchi device back together once you have debugged it successfully.
