Cheats for Dragon: the Bruce Lee Story

"Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" is a console game for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis based on the biographical film of actor and martial arts specialist Bruce Lee. Players can move through levels, battling villains with impressive martial arts techniques. As with all games, "Dragon" slowly builds in difficulty, allowing players to slowly adjust to the gameplay, but for those wanting to speed up the learning curve slightly, the game has a number of programmed cheats.
  1. Selecting Levels

    • For those players that want to get straight to more advanced levels or simply avoid a certain level, one cheat in "Dragon" allows players to select levels from a menu rather than moving progressively through the game. In the "Options" screen, highlight "Sound Test" and immediately press B, A, R, B, A, R, A on your controller quickly and in sequence. When you exit and start a one-player game, a level selection screen will appear and allow you to go directly to any level of your choosing.

    Infinite Lives

    • If you want to make it through the game without worrying about damage and "Game Over" screens, you can gain infinite lives through a simple cheat. In the "Options" screen, highlight "Sound Test" and press B, A, R, B, A, R, A to reach the "Level Select" screen. Once you are there, press SELECT, A, L, A, R, Y in the proper sequence and continue on to the game with infinite lives.

    Infinite Chi

    • "Chi" is an experience point system in "Dragon" that players gain through gameplay and use to perform special attacks. If you want to gain unlimited chi and perform special attacks at any point in the game, a cheat in the "Options" menu can make it possible. Simply go to the "Options" screen, set the sound to "Monaural" then immediately press SELECT, A, L, A, R, Y.

    Increased Difficulty

    • While most cheats tend to make the game easier for players, more advanced players sometimes need special settings in order to make the game more challenging and engaging. With these players in mind, the programmers of "Dragon" actually included an advanced difficulty level available through a cheat. In the "Options" menu highlight "Game Speed" then press A, B, SELECT, UP, RIGHT and DOWN. The special difficulty setting will make your opponents faster and stronger, and the game, as a whole, will be even more challenging than the most advanced difficulty option available on the standard menu.

    Blood Option

    • In the face of broad social pressure and arguably tor good reason, video game developers have chosen to remove much of the blood and gore from many games, with villains collapsing in pools of sweat rather than blood after being defeated. For those players that miss the old puddles of blood from games such as "Mortal Kombat," there is a special cheat that makes blood appear in "Dragon." In the "Options" menu highlight the "Difficulty" option then press B, L, A, DOWN, DOWN, Y. The cheat will make your opponent bleed profusely every time he takes a hit.
