How to Pick Up Police Bribes in GTA

As you run through the game world in "Grand Theft Auto" (GTA), it is inevitable that you will break a few laws. Every infraction draws the attention of local police, and the more attention you have, the harder it is to get things done without getting pinched. You can use police bribe locations to drop your wanted level and lose some of the heat, but you will have to find them first. The developers hid police bribe pickups all around the world in most "GTA" games, with the exception of "GTA IV."

  Locate a police bribe. You will find them scattered about the city; some are easy to spot and others are hidden on rooftops or in blind alleys. Bribes appear as spinning gold police stars or coins depending on your game version.

  Wait until you have acquired a few wanted stars. Police bribes reduce your wanted rating so it is best to save them until you really need them.

  Steal a car and make your way to the bribe location. Avoid the cops in pursuit along the way.

  Drive or run over the bribe to pick it up. Depending on the "GTA" game you are playing, this will reduce your wanted level by one star or erase it completely. Police in your area may continue to give chase, but no new vehicles will appear.
