How to Beat Garai in Chrono Cross

Like all role-playing games, "Chrono Cross" for the PlayStation features many bosses -- enemies that have significantly more health and power that you usually fight at the end of a dungeon. Garai is found at the end of the Bone Cave on the game's first disc. Garai wields two swords and a bad attitude, and many of his attacks can kill a character outright. Before the fight, stock up on Healing Winds and Revives at the shop in Termina. These items, along with knowledge of Garai's attacks and how to weaken them, are crucial to achieving victory.

Instructions

- 1
  Cast "Mana Feeble" on Garai at the beginning of the fight. This significantly weakens his attacks and special skills.

  Use the magic spell "Strengthen" to temporarily raise your character's attack power, allowing you to do more damage to Garai.

  Use physical attacks to damage Garai. They do more damage than spells.
- 4
  Use your Healing Winds or any healing spells to recover your character's health. Garai's attacks are very powerful -- make sure your character's health is full at all times. Use Revives to bring dead characters back to life.

  Continue to attack Garai until he is defeated. Garai has 3,500 health points, but this number is not displayed on the screen. Keep track of the damage you have caused so you know how close Garai is to dying.
