How to Get All of the Shields Fast on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

You can find three different shields in "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time": the Deku Shield, the Hylian Shield and the Mirror Shield. The Deku Shield is made of wood and can block most attacks, though it is vulnerable to fire. The metal Hylian Shield blocks all attacks but is too heavy for a child to wield effectively. The crystal Mirror Shield not only blocks attacks but also deflects light and evil energy. You can find the first two when you are playing as Child Link, but you must be an adult to obtain the Mirror Shield.

Instructions

  Smash the vases inside the houses of Mido and the Three Kokiri Brothers in Kokiri Forest to gather rupees quickly, then head to the Kokiri Shop to purchase the Deku Shield. If you need additional rupees, cut tall grass and smash small stones.

  Destroy vases inside the Hyrule gatehouse to earn rupees, then exit and re-enter the gatehouse to repeat the process. This is the fastest way to earn enough money to buy the Hylian Shield from the Hyrule Town Market while you are still a child.

  Defeat the second Iron Knuckle you meet in the Spirit Temple to obtain the Mirror Shield. Using the Master Sword and Hylian Shield will only slow you down, so equip the Biggorons Sword -- this will allow you to defeat him in only four jump slashes.
