Tutorial & Cheats for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

"The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" is a critically acclaimed video game released for N64 in 1998. You control Link, the hero of this game series and your mission is to prevent Ganondorf from acquiring the powerful relic known as Triforce. The tutorial for "Ocarina of Time" gives you the knowledge needed to play through the game; the cheats either provide you with an advantage or let you have a little extra fun with the game.
  1. Tutorial

    • You can move Link around by moving the control stick in the direction you want him to go. Press "B" to draw your sword and "B" again to slash with it. To stab, press "Z," "Up" and "B" together. Hold "B" for around one second and then release it to carry out a spin attack. Press "Up" and "A" at the same time for a roll attack. Attacking is only one half of battle; defending is just as important. Press "R" to protect yourself with your shield. To walk at the same time, press "Z" and "R" together. Hold down the "Z" button and press "A" to perform a back flip. "L" is to look at your map.

    Keep Your Items

    • Like-Like are enemy creatures suck you into their wide, round mouths if you get too close. What's more, they strip you of your shield and tunic in the process. However, there is a cheat you can use to prevent this. Just wear the kokiri tunic and carry a mirror shield when you fight a like-like and you will keep all your items after being swallowed and spat out.

    Play the Simpsons Theme Tune

    • Your ocarina is used for a variety of purposes throughout the game, but it can also be used for fun with the help of a cheat. Enter the button combination "C-Down," "C-Right," "C-Left," "C-Up," "Control Stick downwards and C-Up," "Control Stick downwards and C-Left," "C-Down," "A," "Z , control stick downwards and A," "Z , control stick downwards and A," "Z , control stick downwards and A," then finally "Control Stick Downwards and A." This will play the theme tune from the animated television show, "The Simpsons."

    Unlimited Rupees

    • Go to the Hyrule Castle and head through the door located straight after the castle entrance. Attack every pot with your sword to smash them and collect the 50 rupees that fall out. Exit the room and then enter again. The pots have returned, so smash them again for another 50 rupees. You can repeat this process as many times as you like.
