How to Get Into the Hyrule Castle in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Hyrule Castle is an important part of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." The castle is the setting forf key parts of the Nintendo 64 game, and you're required to go there to move forward in the story. To enter Hyrule Castle for the first time, Link must evade guards and wake up the sleeping Talon who blocks the entrance. With patience and preparation, you can enter Hyrule Castle without incident and continue your adventure.

Instructions

    • 1

      Cross the drawbridge to enter Hyrule Market. This must be done during the day. At night the bridge closes.

      Locate Malon in the center of the market and speak to her.

      Walk directly opposite the entrance of Hyrule Market, and enter the path to the castle.

      Follow the right side of the path and climb the vines. Walk across the stone archway. A guard will spot you and kick you out.

      Walk back down the path and find Malon at the bottom of the vines. Speak to her and she'll give you a Weird Egg. Equip it for later use.

      Climb the vines, and go down the ladder on the stone archway. Exit the room, and follow the road. When you see two guards, climb up the hill on the left before they spot you.

      Walk across the field toward the flowers and climb the wall to the left of the guard.

      Walk across the ledge and drop down into the pathway around the castle. Jump into the moat and swim toward the right until you reach the corner.

      Get out of the water and run to Talon, who will be asleep. Use the Weird Egg, which has hatched into a rooster overnight, to wake him up. Speak to him.

      Move the boxes into a stack where Talon was sleeping. Run across the boxes and jump onto the small ledge where the water comes out. Enter the hole in the wall.

      Sneak past the guards through the Castle Courtyard. The goal is to avoid being seen. If they see you'll, you'll be kicked out and forced to try again. Once you make it past the guards, you'll meet Princess Zelda.
