How to Kill the Phantom Ganon in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Phantom Ganon is the enemy boss of the Forest Temple in the game "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." He is not actually Ganon, the ultimate villain of the game, but rather a ghostly impression of him that has poisoned the guardian of the forest, the Great Deku Tree. You will receive a Heart Piece, Saria will give you the Forest Medallion and the Great Deku Tree will blossom again after you defeat Phantom Ganon.

Instructions

- 1
  Whip out your bow and arrows. Prepare to shoot Phantom Ganon as soon as the battle begins and he retreats into a painting.

  Rotate your bow and arrow between all of the paintings until you spot Phantom Ganon. Phantom Ganon will gallop out of one of the paintings at random.

  Shoot Phantom Ganon just as he leaps from the painting. Phantom Ganon will retreat into the painting if you succeed. He will leap across the room and hit you with a bolt of lightning if you fail. Repeat this process two more times. Phantom Ganon will then fly out of the paintings for battle without his horse.

  Draw your sword. You will no longer require the bow and arrows once Phantom Ganon stops leaping from paintings.

  Reflect Phantom Ganon's energy attack. Time your sword strike just right to reflect the energy balls Phantom Ganon shoots at you back at him. Let the energy ball fly right in front of Link before you strike.

  Keep the energy ball in the air. Phantom Ganon will hit the energy ball back at you after you reflect it the first time. Repeat the process and hit the ball back to him. Continue until Phantom Ganon misses and the energy ball wounds him.

  Attack Phantom Ganon when he falls. Phantom Ganon will fall down after he suffers an energy ball hit, so use the opportunity to run over to him and attack him with your sword. Prepare to retreat when Phantom Ganon recovers and flies back upward.
- 8
  Repeat the energy ball rebound and physical assault until Phantom Ganon dies. Expect to repeat the process a total of three to four times.
