How to Get 8 Red Coins in Underwater World

The Secret Aquarium is a hidden level with a secret bonus star in "Super Mario 64." The level, which is completely underwater, is unlocked once you collect at least three stars. There is only one star to be obtained, unlike most of the worlds in this game, and you get it by collecting the eight red coins floating in the water. There are no enemies in this level but you will drown unless you collect coins fast enough to replenish your air supply.

Instructions

- 1
  Angle yourself downward so you can see a ring of coins with a red coin in the center of the beginning area. Swim forward to collect the first red coin.

  Turn to the left so that you are facing a window. There is another ring of coins with a red coin in the center -- it is almost parallel to the first red coin. Swim forward to collect it.

  Turn left again to face another large window and find the third red coin. This one is also about parallel to the first two coins. Swim forward to get the coin.

  Keep swimming while angling yourself slightly to the left to face a third window and the fourth red coin. Collect this coin to complete the first tier of coins.

  Move to the left, but angle yourself sharply so you are facing the aquarium floor. You will see the fifth red coin in the corner of the room. Swim down to collect it.

  Turn to the left and swim along the aquarium floor so the wall is to your right. Swim to the far corner of the room, where you can see the sixth red coin.
- 7
  Turn left again at the sixth coin so you are swimming along another wall. The seventh coin is in the corner of the room. Collect the seventh coin by swimming forward.
- 8
  Take a left from the seventh coin and look into the distance to see the final red coin. Swim along the wall to collect it. The star for this world appears at the center of the aquarium floor once you have the final red coin.
