How to Unlock All Emeralds in Sonic & Knuckles Alone

"Sonic and Knuckles" was released in 1994 for the Sega Genesis. Players control either Sonic or Knuckles as they must stop the evil Dr. Robotnik from taking over the world. During the game, Sonic or Knuckles can find seven Chaos Emeralds that allows each character to unlock his super form. In these forms, both characters move twice as fast, jump twice as high and are invincible to all enemy attacks. Finding and unlocking the power of the Chaos Emeralds is done as you play the game.

Instructions

  Locate the large Giant Ring in each stage. Each stage has at least one Giant Ring, hidden in a secret area. The ring is generally hidden behind breakable walls.

  Jump into the ring to access the special stage.

  Grab the blue orbs while avoiding the red orbs. The amount of blue orbs you need to complete the stage is in the top left corner of the screen. Once you have grabbed the required amount of blue orbs, the special stage will end and you are awarded a Chaos Emerald.

  Repeat Steps 1 through 3 until all seven Chaos Emeralds are found. Each Chaos Emerald has a different special stage you must complete, with the next stage being made available once the Chaos Emerald in the previous stage is found.

  Jump into the air and press "A" to transform into the super version of your character: Super Sonic or Super Knuckles. Transforming into the super version requires 50 rings and depletes your accumulated rings while activated. When your rings are depleted, your character changes back to his regular form.
