How to Get Past Gerudos Training Ground in Ocarina of Time

One of the areas in the game "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" is called the "Gerudos Training Ground." It appears early in the game and completing it is a great way to get comfortable with the game's controls. The challenges in this area require the use of all the skills you will hone later on in the game to defeat more powerful enemies and to save the Princess Zelda.

Instructions

- 1
  Enter the main room of the Gerudos Training Ground. In the main room you will see a series of doors leading the way to the various training rooms. You will eventually have to enter all doors and complete all tasks to properly clear the area. Start with any door you'd like.

  Kill the two Stalfos monsters in under one minute --- when you enter the room with two Stalfos. They each have shields, so run around them and hit them from behind. You can track the time with the on-screen indicator. Killing the Stalfos rewards you with a key.

  Obtain all five Silver Rupees in under 90 seconds --- when you enter the room with the Silver Rupees. A monster is in the middle of the level --- you can either choose to kill or ignore the monster depending on which strategy you think is easier. Getting the Silver Rupees rewards you with another key.

  Kill all enemies in the room with the Wolfos monsters. Push the block from one end of the room into the hole in the middle of the floor, causing the door to open. Run through the door and kill the remaining enemies in the room to obtain another key.

  Destroy the eye of the statue in the next room. Open the chest that appears to obtain another key. Use the key to open the locked door in the room, advancing onto the next part of the area.

  Obtain the five Silver Rupees that populate the next room. Some are hard to get to, so use your long shot to get access onto platforms and other types of surfaces that you can't climb to. This will get you another key. Advance to the next part of the level.

  Open the game's menu and play the notes for the "Song of Time" on your Ocarina using the yellow arrow keys on the Nintendo 64 controller. This allows you to advance to the next room, which is filled with lava. Exit the lava room through the door to advance to a room with a series of enemies. Use your sword and any other weapons to kill the enemies.

  Enter the maze area. Use the keys you obtained in the previous rooms to open the locked doors throughout the maze. At the center of the maze are the Ice Arrows, which you can add to your inventory.
