How to Kill the Second Dark World Boss in a Link to the Past

"Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past" was originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in April 1992. It quickly became one of the most popular games ever released for the SNES, and it has since been re-released for the Gameboy Advance. Of the many bosses in this classic favorite, Arrghus -- the second Dark World boss -- can be one of the more infuriating if you don't know the trick to beating him.

Hookshot

Instructions

  Equip the Hookshot as your secondary weapon.
- 2
  Use the Hookshot to pull the small orbs away from Arrghus, then use your sword to destroy them. Continue doing this until all the small orbs are destroyed, triggering Phase 2.

  Wait for Arrghus to jump into the air, and watch for his shadow on the ground. He will land on the area where you are standing when he jumps; move outside the shadow, charge your sword and release it when he lands to hit him.

  Hit Arrghus again if he starts bouncing off the walls to send him back into the air. Repeat this process until he succumbs, relinquishing a Heart Container and the second Crystal.
