How to Beat Barinade in Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64

The Bio-Electic Anemone Barinade can be an intimidating opponent in "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." You will encounter this boss after navigating through Jabu-Jabu's belly, and you have to defeat him to escape with your life. Barinade utilizes electricity blasts and protective jellyfish to thwart your attacks. To beat him, you must use your boomerang to hack through his defenses. When he's sufficiently weakened, a few well-timed strikes of your sword will conclude the battle.

Instructions

- 1
  Use the Z-target on each of the three connectors that hook Barinade to the ceiling. Throw your boomerang to sever each connection.

  Back off and hide near one of the pots as the jellyfish emerge. Run in when they stop spinning and kill each one individually as you dodge the electricity blasts. If the jellyfish begin to spin again before you get them all, return to the edge of the room, then continue your attack when they stop.

  Use the Z-target to lock onto the main part of Barinade's body. Hit him with your boomerang a few times to stun him. Move in and destroy any remaining jellyfish.
- 4
  Lock onto Barinade and continue hitting him with your boomerang. Move in when he is stunned and slash him with your sword. Repeat the process until Barinade is defeated.
