Playing on a computer

  Insert your "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" disk into your computer. Click "Install Game" from the launcher that appears. Click "Next" to skip through the launcher. Read the game's legal terms of use and if you agree, click "I Agree." Click "Finish" to install the game -- and DirectX, which is required to play the game -- on your computer.

  Reboot your computer to finish installing "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2."

  Double-click the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" icon on your desktop. This icon was created during game installation. The icon will load the game's main menu on screen.

  Select "Special Ops" from the main menu to load the game's training mode. Select "Campaign" to load and play the game's main story mode. Select "Multiplayer" to load the game's multiplayer utility, which allows you to play against gamers all over the world.

Playing on gaming console

  Insert your "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" game disc into your PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

  Open the "Game" menu on a PlayStation 3 to reveal the icon for the game. You do not have to perform this step on an Xbox 360.

  Select the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" option on screen. If you are prompted to download an update for the game, select "Confirm" to do so. If no update is needed, the game's main menu will load.
