How to Fix It When Your Action Replay Keeps Freezing

If your Action Replay keeps freezing the title you're trying to play on your video game console, this means that some aspect of the enabled code is incorrect. You either entered the numbers and letters that make up the code incorrectly or the code itself is simply incompatible with the game. You can fix these issues by going back into your Action Replay's settings and disabling the code you're trying to use.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect your Action Replay to your game console. If you are playing on a handheld gaming console the Action Replay goes into the game slot on the console while the game itself plugs into the Action Replay. If you're playing on a console like the GameCube the Action Replay disc goes into the console and a memory card must be inserted into the front of the console.

    • 2

Select the "Action Replay Codes" menu option.

    • 3

Select the "Game Select" menu option.

    • 4

Choose the "Code Select" option. Use your controller (or the buttons on the front of your handheld gaming console) to highlight the code that you currently have enabled. If you have manually input the code into the Action Replay yourself, select "Edit." Check the code that you entered with the Web page where you found the code. Make sure you have typed the code in correctly. Typing the code incorrectly could cause the game to freeze.

Press the "A" button on your console's controller (or the "Square" button on a PlayStation 3) to turn off the code that was previously selected. If the code you're trying to use is freezing your game, this means that the code is incompatible with that title. Disabling the code will allow you to play the game uninterrupted.
