How to Fill Up Lake Hylia With Water in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

You can play the 1998 Nintendo 64 game "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" on multiple Nintendo consoles, including the Wii and the Gamecube. As you play the game, you will notice that Lake Hylia is dry when Link is an adult, which impedes your ability to visit the Fishing Farm easily and to collect items such as a Golden Skulltula. During the course of normal gameplay, Lake Hylia will fill up with water.

Instructions

  Collect the Iron Boots from the Ice Cavern. The Iron Boots allow Link to walk along the bottom of pools of water. This is a necessary ability for tackling the Water Temple.

  Buy or receive Zora's Tunic. This blue-colored tunic allows Link to breathe underwater. You can purchase Zora's Tunic for 300 Rupees at Zora's gift shop. If you have not yet purchased Zora's Tunic, you will receive Zora's Tunic as a gift from King Zora XVI if you free him from a block of ice. Use blue fire on the ice that traps the king in Zora's domain.

  Battle through the Water Temple. Once you have the Iron Boots and Zora's Tunic at your disposal, you can enter the Water Temple. Battle enemies and solve puzzles as you make your way to the final boss fight of the Temple.

  Defeat Dark Link. The Water Temple's sub-boss is Dark Link, a shadowy evil version of Link himself. Dark Link will mirror Link's attacks.

  Continue to the Boss Room. After you battle with Dark Link, you will still need to make your way deeper into the Water Temple to arrive at the Boss Room.

  Win the fight against Morpha. Morpha, a giant aquatic amoeba, fights with large tentacles that reach out to capture Link. Aim for the orb at Morpha's center. After you defeat Morpha, you will see cut scenes with Ruto and then Sheik. After these cut scenes, Lake Hylia will fill up with water automatically.
