How Do I Beat the Boss in 2-4 on Kid Icarus?

While many classic console games are not as complex as newer games, what they lack in complexity they make up for in difficulty. "Kid Icarus," released for the NES in 1987, is no exception. Taking place across 17 levels, "Kid Icarus" only features four bosses. However, each boss is a challenge in its own right. Hewdraw, the boss of stage 2-4, requires the player to avoid the traps around him, as well as Hewdraw's attacks.

Instructions

- 1
  Use the hot spring in the dungeon to completely restore your health. Avoid enemy encounters before you reach Hewdraw, as the amount of health you have when you enter his room is the amount of health you will have during the fight.

  Avoid the lava pools scattered around the floor. Coming into contact with the lava will quickly drain your health.

  Avoid Hewdraw's attack by standing under him. Hewdraw's only attack is to jump at you in an arc pattern --- standing underneath him will avoid this attack completely.

  Shoot Hewdraw in the head using your bow and arrow to damage him. Hewdraw makes a high-pitched sound every time he is injured.

  Continue to avoid Hewdraw's attacks, and shoot his head until he explodes. Grab the treasure chest floating in the air to finish the level.
