How to Make Seeds Grow on Zelda 64

"Zelda: Ocarina of Time" is a game for the Nintendo 64 that allows players to travel back and forth through time as Link, the hero of the story. Link can travel back in time to become a young child again, then go forward through time to become an adult. This feature becomes a key element when growing the plants to help you reach hidden areas around Hyrule. You can buy "magic beans" that, when planted in the proper soil as young Link, will grow over time and help you out as adult Link.

Instructions

    • 1

Buy the magic beans from the Bean Seller in the entrance of the Zora River area. You can buy a maximum of ten beans from him, and the price will increase every time you buy one, starting at 10 rupees and then increasing by 10 each bean after that. The final bean will be 100 rupees.

    • 2

Travel through Hyrule as young Link and locate small dirt patches in the ground. These dirt patches will be square shaped, lighter in color than the surrounding area and have a small black hole in the middle of it. There are ten of these dirt patches throughout Hyrule, one for each magic bean you can buy.

    • 3

Equip the magic bean and drop it on the center of the dirt patch as young Link. A small plant will emerge from the dirt patch. These plants require no watering.

    • 4

Travel through time to become adult Link again and then go back to the same dirt patch. Now, instead of a sprouting plant, there will be a fully grown magic plant that will transport you to hidden locations.

    • 5

Use the magic plant to locate heart pieces or use them to travel through areas quicker. Once planted, the magic plant will always be there.
