Instructions for Triple Play 2000 for the Nintendo 64

Triple Play 2000 is a baseball video game released in that year for several different consoles including the Nintendo 64. This game allows you to take control of a team for a season. You set a lineup, make trades and control players during the game to try to win the World Series. You use the Nintendo 64 controller to pitch and control your fielders, as well as to swing the bat while on offense.

      Press the "Start" button at any time to pause the game. While in the pause menu, you can move the cursor to select options such as "Defense Substitution" which will allow you to change pitchers or fielders, or "Pinch-Hitter" to switch out your current batter. You can also change game settings in the "Options" menu such as sound levels and brightness.

      Hold the "R" button and use the "Directional Pad" to move the position of your player in the batters box before a pitch is thrown. Hold down the "L" button and use the same pad to rotate the batter. Press the "A" button to perform a normal swing, the "B" button to do a power swing and the bottom "C" button to bunt.

      Press "L" while the ball is in play to advance all players to the next base. Hold "L" and "R" to retreat all runners. Tap the top "C" button to lead off toward second, the left "C" button to lead off toward third and the bottom "C" button to lead off toward home between pitches with men on base. Press "L" plus the corresponding "C" button to steal and the "B" button to slide. Tapping "A" while running gives the runner a speed boost.

      Press one of the "C" buttons before a pitch to select it. Press the "A" button to throw and use the directional pad to move the pitch inside the strike zone. Press "B" to throw the pitch outside of the strike zone. Press the top, left or right "C" buttons to throw a pick off attempt to the corresponding base.

      Use the control stick to move a fielder while the ball is in play. Once you have the ball, press one of the "C" buttons to throw the ball to the corresponding base. Press the "A" button to throw the ball to a cutoff man.
