How Do I Get Shadow After the World Ends in Final Fantasy 6?

Shadow is a moody and unpredictable member of your team in "Final Fantasy VI." In the game, a dramatic event occurs, causing the end of the world. The first half of the game is called the World of Balance, while the period after the end of the world is known as the World of Ruin. Shadow can be lost forever if you don't follow the proper steps to save him before the world falls apart.

  Play through the game until you reach the floating continent. A devastating event will occur, giving you only six minutes to scramble back to your awaiting airship. Shadow will stay and try and stop the villain Kefka from causing more damage.

  Hurry off of the floating continent. You only have six minutes to get back before the continent falls apart. When you get to your airship, you have the choice to either jump on, or to stay. Do not leave. Stay on the continent until only five seconds are left. Shadow will then appear.

  Find the airship in the World of Ruin. Fly to the the Veldt, and find Veldt Cave. Open all the treasure boxes. Inside one of them you will find a weapon called "Striker." This sword is necessary for later steps.

  Keep on walking through the cave. You will find an unconscious Shadow. Two behemoth monsters will attack you one right after the other. Defeat them, and you will be taken to the town of Thamasa, where Shadow will be recovering from his wounds, but he won't stay for long.

  Go to the coliseum. Bet the weapon "Striker" and you will be placed in a battle against Shadow. Defeat him, and he will join your party, this time for good. You will also be rewarded with the sword you bet.
