How to Get a Spade in Fable

"Fable," the first game in the "Fable" game series for the Xbox and Xbox 360, was released in 2004. Many staples in other game series got their start in "Fable," from using expressions to converse with villagers to using a spade to dig for treasure. You must first buy a spade before you can dig for treasure in Fable. A spade is available in many shops, though the first time a spade is available for purchase is in Bowerstone.

     Travel to the southern section of Bowerstone, known as Bowerstone South.

     Press "A" next to the merchant to the right of the Bowerstone South gate.

     Select "Buy."

     Select "Spade." The spade costs 200 gold to purchase.

     Use your spade by selecting it through the "Items" menu. Use the spade on any patch of dirt to dig up silver keys, money, potions and other items.
