Cartridge Based Consoles
Turn off your cartridge-based gaming console if using a GameShark on a console like the Nintendo 64.
Pull your GameShark cartridge and the attached game out of your console. Separate the GameShark from the game cartridge.
Insert the game cartridge back into the game console and turn the console back on. The cheats you previously entered will no longer be active because the GameShark is no longer connected.
Disc Based Consoles
Shut down the game you are currently playing. For example, on a PlayStation 3 you would select the "Quit Game" option by pressing the "PS" button on the controller. The Xbox 360 has a similar option accessible via the controller.
Disconnect the GameShark media manager from the USB port on your console. Pull it out the same way you would disconnect a flash drive from your computer.
Start the game you were playing once again on your disc-based console. Because the GameShark Media Manager is no longer present, the cheats previously selected will no longer be active.
