How to Connect a Super Nintendo to the TV

If you have an old Super Nintendo console lying around your house, you can still play some of your old favorites. Modern consoles like the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii connect through HDMI cables or special adapters. Older consoles rely on classic audio/video cables with red, white and yellow connectors. Since most modern televisions still support audio/video cables, you can easily hook up your classic system in minutes.

Instructions

  Plug the A/C adapter into the back of the console. Insert the "plug" end of the adapter into a wall outlet.

  Insert the rectangular end of the audio/video cable into the "Multi-Out" input on the back of the Super Nintendo.

  Plug the red, yellow and white cables into their respective inputs on the back of the television. These inputs will be labeled "video in." Take note if the inputs are labeled "Video 1" or "Video 2."

  Insert a game into your Super Nintendo and turn on the console.

  Turn on your television and switch to the video input. You may have several input channels, so refer to the input label on the back of the television. A picture and audio on the screen indicates a correct connection.
