How to Get to the Top of Death Mountain in The Ocarina of Time

Defeat Dodongo's Cavern as young Link. During the course of this dungeon level, you will be rewarded with a small bomb bag.

Equip the bomb bag to one of the yellow directional buttons.

Climb up the Death Mountain Trail to a red flag. Here, turn left off the trail and head up towards a sign that will read "Mountain Summit Danger Ahead -- Keep Out."

Make your way up the slight incline to the rock blocking the path. Destroy the rock with a bomb. Be sure to step back a good distance from the bomb once you set it next to the rock. The explosion will create a gap in the path that you need to jump over. Unfortunately, there will be another rock blocking the path.

Throw a bomb at the next rock so that it lands on top. Wait for it to explode.

Jump over the gap and follow the path towards the volcano. As you get closer, it will begin erupting, and rocks will fall down on top of you.

Crouch with your Hylian shield covering you by holding down "R"; continue to crouch until the rocks stop falling.

Move forward as quickly as you can. The volcano will begin erupting again, and you will need to crouch once more and wait for it to stop.

Steadily make your way up your path, repeating steps seven and eight until you make your way to a wall you can can climb up. It should only take four or five times.

Equip your slingshot and take out the two Skulltulas loitering along the wall.

Climb up the wall to the top of Death Mountain, stopping mid-way to kill another Skulltula.

Run past the owl towards the blocked wall and place a bomb there.

Enter to find the first Great Fairy and receive the Spin Attack.
