How to Repair an NES Game System

If you own an NES Game System, you have probably experienced a blinking blue screen when trying to play. Most of the time, this is a simple repair that requires nothing more than an air duster and a few cotton swabs.

  • Cotton swabs
  • Window cleaner

Instructions

      Spray the air duster inside the cartridge tray. Also, spray wherever you see open gaps around the console, such as the buttons and ridges connecting the plastic parts.

      Clean the game cartridge with cotton swabs and window cleaner. Dip one end of the swab in the cleaner and lightly brush around the inside of the cartridge.

      Use a fresh swab to dry the inside of the cartridge completely.

      Place the game cartridge into the console and press power. You may need to jiggle the game back and forth a little to get it to start. If it still does not work, repeat steps one through three.
