Super Mario Brothers 3 Tips

"Super Mario Bros. 3" was a challenging game on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). As with most other video games, there are tips that will help you beat "Super Mario Bros. 3" much more easily. These tips can give you extra items, get you to Bowser's World more quickly, make Bowser harmless and even reveal hidden blocks.
  1. Extra Items

    • Collecting items is a vital part of "Super Mario Bros. 3." By following a few steps, you can get all the items you will need to beat the game. First, go to any mushroom house in the game. Go inside and choose a treasure box and accept the item. After the item has been acquired, press "Start," save the game and quit. When you start the game again, you will have your item and be able to visit the same mushroom house again. By repeating these steps, you can amass a large collection of items.

    Get to Bowser's World Faster

    • This tip will allow you to skip the majority of the game and get to Bowser's World extremely quickly. Collect two warp whistles while in World 1. When starting World 2, use the first whistle to get to World 7. After you have arrived in World 7, use the second whistle to go to World 8. This is Bowser's World.

    Hidden Blocks

    • Some levels in "Super Mario Bros. 3" have a starry background. While passing these backgrounds, look for stars that stick out. These stars are actually markers that will let you locate hidden blocks. Jump in front of these stars, and you will find camouflaged blocks that have either coins or items in them.

    Harmless Bowser

    • Bowser is the last and final boss. Thus, he can be quite difficult to beat. But only the top of Bowser's head can hurt you. So when Bowser is attacking, you need only to dodge his head. Sometimes it is even possible to run through Bowser with Mario and not get hurt. If you are big Mario, try ducking when Bowser tries to stomp on you. This will cause no damage to Mario, making Bowser's attack harmless.
