Super Nintendo SimCity Cheats

"SimCity" was originally a home computer game that was released in 1991 for the Super Nintendo home video game console. Players take the role of a city mayor who oversees the development and upkeep of an entire city from a top-down perspective. With the player's expertise, the city can grow into a sprawling metropolis with millions of citizens, balancing population happiness, revenue and budget. The player is also omnipotent and can summon natural disasters such as earthquakes and tornadoes that destroy buildings and infrastructure. The Super Nintendo version of "SimCity" also features several cheats that reduce the challenge level of the main game.

$999,999 Balance Cheat
- Bring your balance to $000,000 by purchasing buildings. In the "Tax" section of the "Information Menu," lower the tax rate, police, transit and fire coverage to zero percent. Wait until the last day of December for the "Annual Report" screen to appear. Hold the "L" button down and select the "Go with the Figure" button. Bring up the "Tax" section of the "Information Menu" with the "L" button still held down. Increase police, transit and fire coverage to 100 percent, and then select the "Go with the Figures" button. Let go of the "L" button, and the $000,000 balance will change to $999,999. You can then head back into the "Information Menu" to change your tax and coverage rates back to normal.
Game Genie Codes
- Those with a Game Genie peripheral for the Super Nintendo can use the following codes with SimCity: Start a new easy game with $3,000 balance: 86AB-6D02 + D8AB-6D62; start a new easy game with a $40,000 balance: 0DA8-6D02 + BAAB-6D62; start a new easy game with $60,000 balance: 1DAB-6D02 + 3CAB-6D62; increase the clock rate: DD67-DFAA; decrease the clock rate: DE67-DFAA; get unlimited money: E28A-AD61.
Pro Action Replay Codes
- Gamers who own a Pro Action Replay can use "spawn" codes with SimCity, which will create the specified item on-screen without incurring cost. The following building spawn codes can be used: bank: 7E03-F502; casino: 7E03-F505; expo: 7E03-F50B; fire station: 7E03-F508; fountain: 7E03-F509; fun fair: 7E03-F503; landfill: 7E03-F506; large park: 7E03-F50E; library: 7E03-F50D; mario monument: 7E03-F50A; mayor's house: 7E03-F501; train station: 7E03-F50F; windmill: 7E03-F50C; zoo: 7E03-F504.

Extra City Maps
- There are 999 city maps to choose from for a new game, but there is a way to play on maps not listed on the original list of 999 default city maps. Start a new game at any difficulty level and select any map to begin on. Select "Go to Menu" on the top toolbar and choose "Start New City." Do not save the game when prompted. The map will refresh to a new city, though the map number will remain the same.
