How to Destroy an Enemy With One Eye in Zelda

"The Legend of Zelda" was released for the NES in 1987 in the United States. Often, only a riddle was provided for certain enemies, such as the one eyed boss monster Gohma. The only clue gamers receive on how to defeat Gohma is a cryptic message from an old man in the dungeon, who states "Aim at the eyes of Gohma." However, the game does not tell you what to use to destroy him.

     Avoid the fireballs Gohma shoots at you.

     Wait for the eye to open. No other attacks will be effective on Gohma, so continue to dodge the fireballs while you wait.

     Use the bow and arrow to shoot an arrow into Gohma's eye when it opens. If you are successful, Gohma will be defeated, as it only takes one arrow to defeat him.
