Defeated Bosses and Super Weapons
Enter the password section from the main menu and enter these codes to activate the cheats. Input "3661 4888 3327 8221" and the boss robots Blast Hornet, Gravity Beetle, Blizzard Buffalo, Toxic Seahorse, Crush Crawfish, Volt Catfish and Tunnel Rhino will be defeated already. To earn all of the sub-tanks, heart tanks, ride armor, regular armor, Maverick weapons and the Z-Saber, use the code "1454 3365 6162 7183."
Change Zero's Status
Whether Zero is alive or dead will affect the ending of the game you view upon completion. Enter the code "6464 4355 6878 7356" to reach the end of the game with him alive, and "6464 4355 6878 7355" with him defeated.
Golden Chip
To accomplish this trick, you must have all other power-ups in the game -- you can use the cheat code in Section 1 -- and your health meter should be full. Near the end of the first stage in Doppler's lab, you will come across a pit with spiked balls falling into it. Cling to the left side of this pit and slide down to access a secret room. In here, you will find a capsule that allows you to get a golden chip. This will turn Mega Man X's suit golden and give him the benefits of all other collectible chips in the game.
Getting the Z-Sabre for Mega Man
Once you beat two boss robots, you can enter teleporters in the Volt Catfish, Blizzard Buffalo and Crush Crawfish stages. These will take you to the Vile mini-stage. Use either of the weapons earned after beating Neon Tiger or Crush Crawfish to defeat Vile and reach the end of the stage before the timer expires. Complete all of the boss robot stages to make your way to the second level of Doppler Fortress. Switch from Mega Man X to Zero just before reaching the bug robot. This robot will damage Zero and he will give Mega Man his Z-Sabre weapon. Charge it with the "Y" button before firing.
