List of Halo Weapons

Halo is a popular science-fiction video game series. The first game, "Halo: Combat Evolved," was released with the Xbox as a launch title. The game pits an alien race, The Covenant, against the United Nations Space Command (UNSC), a group of cybernetically enhanced soldiers led by a character called Master Chief. You're allowed to use weapons from any race in "Halo: Combat Evolved."
  1. UNSC Weaponry

    • As Master Chief, you'll have access to UNSC weaponry such as the M6D Pistol, MA5B Assault Rifle, M90 Shotgun, S2 AM Sniper Rifle and the M199 SM Rocket Launcher. You can also use Fragmentation Grenades. The M6D Pistol (the first weapon you receive in the game) and the MA5B Assault Rifle comprise the backbone of your arsenal. You'll begin most levels with the Assault Rifle, which is a good close- and medium-range weapon for killing grunts, infection forms and invisible Elites.

    Covenant Weaponry

    • Master Chief can also use Covenant weapons such as the Plasma Rifle, Plasma Pistol, Needler, Fuel Rod Gun, Plasma Grenade and Shade. The Plasma Rifle is a medium-range directed-energy weapon that can supply semi-automatic or automatic fire. When dual wielding, the Plasma Rifle can be paired with the M90 Shotgun for medium- and close-range firepower. The Needler is magazine-fed weapon that rapid-fires crystal, shard-like projectiles. If seven or more shards hit your target, it will cause an explosion that can damage nearby enemies. Use this gun to fight Elites.

    Vehicles

    • Master Chief can operate any of a number of UNSC and Covenant vehicles. The Warthog is a UNSC Light Reconnaissance Vehicle with a M41 Light Anti-Air Gun turret. The Warthog LAAV is easier to maneuver and features a triple-barreled 102 mm rocket launcher, but it's only available in multiplayer games. The Scorpion is a UNSC battle tank with a 7.62 mm machine gun and a 90 mm cannon. The Ghost is a speedy and agile Covenant Reconnaissance vehicle with two plasma cannons, and the Banshee is a lightly armored Covenant Aerial Assault Aircraft with two plasma cannons and a fuel rod cannon.

    Melee Attacks

    • Melee attacks can be performed with any ranged weapon. Move next to an enemy and press "B" on the default Xbox controller layout to strike the enemy with the gun. Melee attacks cause heavy damage, and a blow to the back will cause an instant kill (except for Flood forms and Hunters). If you hit your enemy while running towards him, you will do twice as much damage. Perform melee attacks to avoid enemy detection and conserve ammunition.
