Boss Codes

• The game has a number of robotic bosses you have to defeat in order to unlock new weapons and progress through the game. If you enter the code "7745 5253 1441 5486", you begin the game with Blast Hornet defeated. The code "5275 1266 1751 5458" allows you to begin the game with Blizzard Buffalo defeated. To start with Crush Crawfish beaten, input "8216 4156 6742 3821". The code "7743 5256 1441 5486" beats Gravity Beetle. The code for Neon Tiger is "3723 1283 1751 1456". Type in "2376 2163 6258 7841" to defeat Toxic Seahorse. Use the code "5765 1263 1756 5488" to defeat Tunnel Rhino. For the last boss, Volt Catfish, use the code "5768 1267 4758 5488".

Upgrade Codes

• Throughout the game, you can pick up upgrades, such as heart tanks and sub-tanks, as well as armor and weapons. Typing in the code "1454 3365 6162 7183" gives you all of these upgrades, except for the Z-Sabre, which you collect later. If you want to start off with some upgrades but no bosses or special weapons, "8127 4535 6316 5311" gives you the Super Armor, Dual Air Dash move and Hyper Crash attack. You can also start with the Super Armor items, as well as Dual Air Crash and the Energy Recharge mode, by typing in "8127 4565 6316 5316". The code "8127 4565 6316 5351" gives you the Super Armor, Hyper Crash and Energy Recharge. You can also skip the armor and just have the attacks and energy recharge with "8127 4365 6316 5311". The code "5114 4185 6872 3111" unlocks everything except the Z-Sabre and gives you three of the four Chips.

Last Levels

• You can skip all of the boss battles, and their respective levels, and drop yourself off at the beginning of the final levels by inputting certain codes. If you type in "8317 1683 6772 3876", the game starts at Dr. Doppler's lab. For a real challenge, type in the code "6718 1861 3627 8656" to begin at the last level with no items, armor upgrades or power-ups. If you just want to fight the final boss and have the golden armor, type in the code "1454 3535 6162 7162".

Zero Status

• The main character of the series is Mega Man himself, but his enigmatic cohort Zero affects the ending of the game. If you want to change Zero's status, you can unlock all three endings when you defeat Sigma at the end. To keep Zero alive, type in "6464 4355 6878 7356". If Sigma wasn't defeated, but you want him to be, use the code "6464 4355 6878 7355". The Z-saber final weapon is an important plot device, and you unlock it with the "6464 6355 6878 7355" code.
