How to Tell If an Atari 5200 Has Power

The Atari 5200 SuperSystem is a video game console, originally released in 1982, designed by Atari, Inc. in two versions -- one that can use up to four analog joystick controllers and one that can use up to two controllers. The 5200 receives power via an AC power adapter that plugs into an electrical socket and the TV antenna switch box. When you turn on the console, you can tell if it is receiving power two ways.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert a game cartridge into the slot on top of your Atari 5200 console and then push the "Power" button to turn on the unit.

    • 2

Look at the red LED on top of your console near the right corner. If the LED is glowing red, then the console has power.

    • 3

Check your TV screen if you don't see the LED glow. If the console is receiving power, you should see the Atari logo appear on the screen.
