How to Beat Super Conflict

"Super Conflict" is a classic turn-based strategy game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, or SNES. You take on the role of an army officer commanding troops during a fictional combat situation. The game pits American forces vs. Soviet forces, with each side's pieces being distinguished by specialized units and weapons. You can employ several tricks and strategies to ensure successful completion of the campaign's missions.

Instructions

    • 1

Learn to use terrain to your advantage. Ground units get a defensive bonus when situated in cities, hills or around airports. Deserts and bridges are detrimental to the defensive statistics of your ground units, making them ideal points to set up an ambush of your foes. Enemy aircraft can be destroyed if you successfully attack an airbase containing landed planes. Make sure to guard your own airports carefully.

    • 2

Press "Start" during gameplay to access combat setting preferences. Choose "Long Battles" and "Move All Units." This will maximize your ability to respond to battle conditions. Use the "R" button to retreat from battles that are going against you.

    • 3

Conserve units carefully during the earliest stages of the game, because you will not be given reinforcements.

    • 4

Build commandos once you begin to produce resources. This is the most efficient unit available and should be chosen instead of light tanks to maximize the use of your production points. You can build more advanced units later once you have stabilized your income.

    • 5

Build SAMs and AAA batteries to defend your factories once aircraft become available. Factories are a priority target for your computer opponent's air force, so you can easily position your defenses to take advantage of your enemy's single-mindedness.

    • 6

Position your naval units to guard bridges, easily ambushing enemy forces as they try to pass single-file through narrow waterways.
