"1942" and "1943"
Introduced in 1984, "1942" is a shooter gamed based on World War II. Players focus on upgrading their weapons with power-ups and shooting enemy planes out of the sky. The sequel "1943" from 1987 had enhanced graphics and secret weapons. Players could also manipulate elements of nature such as lightning and tsunamis.
"Ghosts n' Goblins" and "Ghouls n' Ghosts"
"Ghosts n' Goblins" from 1985 is a side-scrolling where players attempt to rescue the love interest of the character Sir Arthur. The game had some humorous elements such as Sir Arthur appearing clad in only boxer shorts after his armor is hit. "Ghouls n' Ghosts," the sequels to "Ghosts n' Goblins," was released in 1988.
"Bionic Commando"
"Bionic Commando" was introduced by Capcom in 1987. Players use guns and a bionic arm fitted with a hook to find and destroy a hidden enemy base.
"Street Fighter II"
"Street Fighter" may rival "Resident Evil" as Capcom's most famous series. "Street Fighter" characters have appeared in multiple games under their own title, and two movies have been based on them. The game is played the same way in each edition: a player controls a fighter who must beat another fighter two out of three times. The next fighter is always tougher than the previous one. The "Capcom Classics" game has three versions: "Street Fighter II," "Street Fighter II Hyperfighting" and "Streetfighter II Championship Edition."
"Gun Smoke"
"Gun Smoke" from 1985 is Capcom's western-themed arcade game. Players operate a bounty hunter character named Billy the Cowboy, who tends to shoot his targets. Players can earn power-ups by picking up items such as bullets, boots, rifles and horses.
"Trojan"
"Trojan" was released in 1986 and is a side-scrolling fighter game. Players must defeat an oppressive, evil king in a post-apocalyptic setting. Players fight with a shield and sword, but if they lose their weapons they must fight hand-to-hand.
"Legendary Wings"
"Legendary Wings" from 1986 combines side-scrolling and vertical shooting. Players choose one of two human characters who can fly. Players must use this ability to defeat the forces of an evil computer and save the land.
